VOTE! 2000 Campaign Announced in New
York
Albany, NY - June 21, 2000.
Jim Dickson, Vice-President of the
National Organization on Disability (NOD), pictured above sitting right of the
podium, came to Albany for a press conference and strategy meeting with over
twenty-five different statewide networks serving people with disabilities. The
group identified a goal to turn out over 124,000 new voters with disabilities
in New York State for Election Day 2000. The additional voters will include
individual's newly registered and registered non-voters. The statewide network
of Centers for Independent Living (CILs) will also work with the New York State
Attorney General's Office to ensure polling place accessibility. Refer to page
